In the fall of 2024 we were able to purchase a replica third order fresnal lens that was constructed by Nexflix as a prop for the movie set of Slumberland.  Standing over nine feet high, this 6 panel beehive design lens contains 72 prisms!  This impressive acquisition will be used by our tour guides to demonstrate how light was refracted to project a beam miles out into the water to guide mariners before modern aides to navigation deemed lighthouses obsolete.  Housed on the main level of the lighthouse, this replica lens is a must see and we are proud to feature it as the newest attraction to compliment our informative tours for the 2025 tour season!

Since 2004, PALPS volunteers, along with the Town of Fort Erie, have led over 2500 visitors on guided tours of the lighthouse.  Visitors have come from both sides of the international border - from Quebec to British Columbia, from New York to California.

Visitors travel by mini bus on a scenic 10 minute ride to the lighthouse where our guides present a brief history.  Visitors are then free to stroll the grounds and enter the first floor of the lighthouse.  Tours generally last about one hour.

For tours: dress for the weather, bring sun protection and wear suitable footwear.

Tours of the Point Abino Lightstation take place every second and fourth Saturday of June, July, August and September.
